Please believe me when I say even those who had no part in the reformist movement on 1990s are in jail!
By Sheida Jahan – Dec 14 2009
I write this for those innocent people who are in jails and we do not remember them as often. Names that have been left out from major news networks and they get no support. Names that are left out because their work has been on individual efforts and they do not belong to any particular groups. Even with their bright work in journalism they have no place among reporters like “Reporters Without Borders”…. See More
I write this of a friend who looks for her husband’s name in the internet at nights and does not find any news. She reads all the reports of supporters of journalists but there is no news of her husband.
I write of those that only when they are transferred to a hosptial after a hunger striker does anyone remember to write a report on them. Those who are looking for a name only write about more famous people which helps their ratings. It doesn’t matter that the story they print is a repeat. All they care about is to get lots of links on the net.
I write of Masoud Lavasani whose court date has been delayed a few times and nobody cares. I write of Javad Maherzadeh for whom a few reporters wrote a support letter and after that there was no news of him.
I write of Fariba Pajouh who has been in jail for four months and her file is complete and orders are in to set her free but she is not being freed! I write of the innocence of her family who does not know what to do anymore to gain the freedom of their daughter and they can only sit on the sidelines and watch.
When Masoud Lavasani was working for Mehr News he has great reports and analysis on his record. He was also a big critic of the government and he published his thoughts in his weblog. Now he is eating boiled potatoes in jail and can only see his son once a week. He is staying in a cold prison and is sick.
I don’t know what Javad Maherzadeh is doing. I don’t even know if his court appearance has passed or not. All I know is that he is innocent and in jail. He is a journalist and novelist who has been in jail since November but his name does not appear on the list of “Reporters without Borders”.
Fariba Pajouh, journalist and weblogger has been away from family for four months. She has been kept in a cold cell that has caused her grave mental and physical illness. Fariba is a friend of mine. Whenever I talk to her mother, I cannot say much because I keep crying. Her mother is impatient and does not know what to do to once again embrace her daughter at home.
At least we have a little bit of news about the friends I named. There are many others whose names we don’t even know and are in jail. Let’s join hands and distribute the news evenly and justly regarding the prisoners. We need to count those who were not reformers and were acting individually as prisoners and we should worry about them. This is the least we can do. We need to keep their names alive until we gain their freedom. We should not spare them this little effort.

great,
what means FB?
i read this in your previous post, there are many unknown and not famous people who the only thing they gain is pain, jail and anxiety,
,people who even not interested in politics but they have thrown inside the events, and have been forced to pay for it. and as you mentioned even their relatives are not aware of their current conditions.
i hope this costs will soon be resulted in what most of us try to get, the lasting peace and democracy.
